December security
Thank you to all our contributors.
We are planning our usual additional security during the holiday season. Please donate generously. We require approximately R 175 000 – R 200 000. Payment can be made as follows:
BRRAG: Standard Bank:
Branch Code: 051117
Kenton on Sea
Account Number: 281116393
Reference: Guards.xx.Street.Name.
Please send an email notification to bushmansratepayers@gmail.com to help us identify the correct houses that are contributing towards this protection plan.
Riversbend owners, please encourage neighbours to assist – we have traditionally contracted for fewer guards for a shorter period due to the lack of contributions.
Also note, that the amount above only allows for guards at night (18h00 – 06h00) and a slipway and sea carpark guard during the day. If we receive more than the amount above, daily roving guards can be added.
Markings will be placed in the streets outside the houses that contribute for easy identification by the guards during December. If your house is not marked, please send us an email and we shall attend to the matter.
Benhamedies
A Greek god?
No, but our own seaside kiosk at the slipway is opening in December. Coffee, ice cream, cool drinks, sweets, chocolates and crisps will be available. Also, wraps and more… Buckets, spades, floaties, beach balls and games.
See you at the slipway.
Riversbend
At the end of October BRRAG contracted and paid for a contractor to remove 22 loads of garden refuse which was illegally dumped all over Riversbend.
Thanks to those RB residents who belong to BRRAG at R350/annum membership fee assisting with the payment of this.
We wish to make the following appeal….
To all residents of RB to please refrain from dumping green refuse all over as well as builders’ rubble……
To all responsible residents to report such activities, and if possible, take photographs, registration numbers will be a bonus.
There are facilities available for both garden refuse and builders’ rubble.
Last but not least, for those residents who aren’t members yet: please join BRRAG. We all want to be proud of our Riversbend.
Camera fund
Please see newsletter by the Camera Fund.
Donations can also be made to BRRAG in the usual account with reference your name and “Camera”.
Whatsapp group for members
We have established a WhatsApp group for paid up members of BRRAG. It is an additional communication channel to improve communication with members. If you want to read our communications or communicate with us, please send your name and surname and cellular number to us by return email. Send it to our email address bushmansratepayers@gmail.com with the words WhatsApp group in the subject line. We intend concentrating on getting newsworthy matters out as quickly as possible to members and not wait for our newsletter that also goes to some non-members. By using this platform, we hope to act immediately on issues that affect us all. We have the objective to enhance service delivery and communication. Examples are reporting of streetlights not working with street name and pole number; water issues; infrastructure reporting; signage repairs; refuse removal; security issues – please note this does not replace any of the security groups but serves as a reporting service.
December Christmas market
Our December Christmas market will be back on 23 December 2022. Great opportunity for some last minute shopping. Also, fresh veggies, sweet treats and lots more. Local is Lekker.
If you have contributions to make to our jumble sale / white elephant table, please drop us a line and we shall arrange to collect. The below decal will also be for sale at the market – but is free to paid-up members.

Annual membership fees
Our subscriptions remain the same as the past few years i.e., R 350. In addition, we shall be sending out accounts to current members as a reminder that subs are due for the 2023 year (our year-end is November, annually).
Tennis courts
Please be reminded that we have an HONESTY BOX on the wall of the club house where donations for the use of the courts are gratefully received. Members can also use the facility for private functions and contribute to our coffers. One of our members, Pete Andrew, assisted with the clean=up pf the court. Thank you, Pete. We hope that the new look court will give a lot of pleasure.
Monthly BRRAG community braai
We are reviving the monthly braai usually held on the last Friday of the month. John Wesley and Bernard Miles have offered to be in charge of the functions. The BRRAG staff will prepare the venue on the Friday afternoon and clean up on a Monday morning. Residents who wish to receive notice of the braai will be added to a special braai Whatsapp group and be advised of any upcoming get-together. If you want to join the group to get notice, please email your name and cellular number to bushmansratepayers@gmail.com with the word BRAAI in the subject line.
